Clark County’s unemployment rate for December 2025, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4.5%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released this week by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.
According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 10,000 persons with 9,549 employed and 451 unemployed. The unemployment rate fell by two-tenths of a percentage point from the November report of 4.7%.
Since the last report, the labor force fell by 189 from 10,189 persons. For the same period in 2024, Clark County reported an unemployment rate of 4.2%, with a labor force of 8,970 persons.
For this recent period, Clark County had the second-largest labor force and the second-lowest jobless rate of the seven-county area surveyed.
Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 4.2% in December, an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point since November. Of the 1.44 million available workers there were 60,987 without jobs. The U.S. jobless rate was at 4.4% with 163.9 million employed and 7.5 million unemployed.
The unemployment rate for these Southwest Arkansas counties surveyed from November to December are listed with their county seat in parentheses: i.e., Clark County (Arkadelphia):
Dallas County (Fordyce) reported a 4.3% unemployment rate and a labor force of 2,764 persons. The jobless rate rose by one-tenths of a percentage point since November.
Hot Spring County (Malvern) reported a 4.5% unemployment rate and a labor force of 13,348 persons. The jobless rate remained unchanged since November.
Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) reported a 6.3% unemployment rate and a labor force of 3,018 persons. The jobless rate rose by three-tenths of a percentage point since November.
Pike County (Murfreesboro) reported a 4.9% unemployment rate and a labor force of 4,091. The jobless rate fell one-tenths of a percentage point since the previous report.
Nevada County (Prescott) reported a 6.1% unemployment rate and a labor force of 2,630 persons. The jobless rate rose one-tenths of a percentage point since November.
Ouachita County (Camden) reported a 5.2% unemployment rate and a labor force of 9,132 persons. The jobless rate fell one-tenths of a percentage point since November.
