Paid Political Announcement: BILL ROGERS for CLARK COUNTY JUDGE

This is a paid political announcement from Bill Rogers for Clark County Judge.

As a current candidate for CLARK COUNTY JUDGE, an article was recently published in The Southern Standard and here in The Arkadelphian that allowed me to tell you some things about myself, my experiences and my qualifications. Today, for a couple of reasons, I’d like to tell you about my family. First, I realize the person reading this may not know me, but it’s likely you might be friends or acquaintances with one of my 15 siblings. You read that right! When my parents, Jack and Estene Rogers married, they knew they wanted a large family, so they let God lead the way. Sixteen children later, He certainly granted that wish! Our parents would never have dreamed of applying for or accepting government (or any other type of) assistance as they knew it was their choice to happily raise ten boys and six girls in a small house, approximately 1300 sq feet. Hey, we made it work! It’s true what the old country song says, “Love Grows Best in Little Houses”.

We kids did a lot of playing, rough-housing, fun fussing and fighting on a special hill in the Hollywood community where my mother still lives. God called home my brother, Isaac, through an accident at the lumber mill where he worked in 1997 at the tender age of 21. Daddy passed away from a heart attack on the one-year anniversary of Isaac’s departure, so they’re both waiting on us in heaven. Gosh, how we miss them and can’t wait to be reunited. Most people ask how we handle gift-giving at Christmas. We do love our big family get-togethers that just keep growing as my 50+ nieces and nephews continue to have children, and our gifts to each other come in the form of potlucks that would rival anything a catering business could pull off. When we gather up, it’s LOUD. And proud. So very proud, full of enough hugs to leave you sore the next day!

The second reason I chose to talk about my siblings stems from my hope that I can be of great help with ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, should I become elected as COUNTY JUDGE. You see, I am extremely grateful that most of my siblings have been able to stay right here in Clark County, and that they, their spouses and many of their grown children have found solid employment here (several have small businesses) to make that possible. How proud that makes me of Clark County and how much I would love to see other families have the same opportunities to live within minutes of one another!

Unless I specify in the list below, you can assume each one on the list never left the county. I think that speaks volumes for this place we all love to call home. When we were younger, Momma and Daddy were pretty strict. If we didn’t get along with each other, we could expect some “whoopins” and might even spend some time holding hands til we could decide to get right with each other. My sister, Mandy, says, “We faught big, but we loved bigger!” That’s the truth, and now we just enjoy a lot of humor and mischief among us. When getting ready to write this, I wondered if I should ask permission from each of them. I can hear some of them now…. “No, you can’t tell folks I’m related to YOU!” It made me pause, chuckle and realize there’s not a single one of us that doesn’t have a sense of humor! When we get together, I’d call us a bunch of downright jokesters. I love each one more than they know! Here they are, from firstborn to the caboose, along with a pretty old, but good photo.

Pat Rogers Buck (Danny, aka Ole’ Buddy to most who know him)
Robin Rogers Conner (Mike, who’s military background landed them in Texas)
Flora Rogers Weeks (Bill)
Chip Rogers (my lead mechanic at AutomoBill’s)
Bill Rogers (Denise)
Coleman Rogers (Bethany)
Jackie Rogers Barnwell (Rob – both School Superintendents who are also in TX)
Chad Rogers (Kelly)
Stan Rogers (Melody)
Carlos Rogers – (work took him to Little Rock)
Stacey Rogers (Marci, who also happens to be my wife’s sister!)
Laura Rogers Clark (Jared)
Isaac Rogers
Mandy Rogers Harris (Mike)
Waylon Rogers (Amanda)
Jackson Rogers (Brittany)

Momma and Daddy ran out of names, so the last one is “Jack’s son”, or so the joke goes. Momma has done a great job making each one feel like her favorite. I just let them think it.

So again, if you haven’t met me but you know any of these or their kids, ask them about me. Just be forewarned, there’s no telling what they might say! If it’s good, it’s true. If it’s bad, let me know. LOL! Please accept this in the light-hearted nature I intend it to be as I continue to try and reach as many Clark Countians as possible in my efforts to be elected as your next CLARK COUNTY JUDGE. I am BILL ROGERS, Candidate for the position of Clark County Judge. I paid for and approved this message without giving them a heads up, (ha), and I would surely appreciate your vote on March 3rd ! Brothers and Sisters, I love you!
