Clark County inmates held in the Arkansas Department of Corrections

As of Nov. 1, 2025, there were 336 people listed as Clark County inmates by the Arkansas Department of Corrections website.

There were 13 more inmates since the October report. The inmates are distributed among several institutions throughout the state.

There are 22 Clark County inmates serving a life sentence or life without parole, and one Garland County inmate on death row who served probation in Clark County in the 1980s.

The total includes 308 men and 28 women. There are 167 black inmates, 164 white inmates and five of other races.

The following Clark County inmates have a parole- or transfer-eligible date in November 2025, although there are several factors that could affect any individual release for months or years.

Harold Atherton, 69, is serving 6 years at the Delta Regional Unit in Dermott. Atherton’s current sentence history includes a 2024 sentence in Hot Spring County for Possession of meth/cocaine with Purpose to Deliver; and a 2024 sentence in Clark County for Possession of a Controlled substance-meth/cocaine with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person.

Tommy Burdue, 55, is serving a 25-year sentence at the Randall L. Williams Correctional Facility in Pine Bluff for a 2024 sentence in Hempstead County for Theft of Property; a 2021 sentence in Garland County for Breaking or Entering; a 2013 sentence in Nevada County for Arson and Theft of Property; a 2013 sentence in Clark County for Theft of Property; a 2011 sentence in Nevada County for Theft of Property; a 2009 sentence in Garland County for Theft by Receiving; and a 2004 sentence in Nevada County for Forgery.

Jackie Gray Jr., 52, is serving a 40-year sentence at the Tucker Re-entry Center for a 1998 sentence in Garland County for aggravated robbery; and a 1997 sentence in Jefferson County for possession of a firearm by a certain person. Gray served probation in Clark County in 1996 for writing hot checks.

Sarah F. Warren, 22, is serving 4 years at the McPherson Unit in Newport for a 2024 sentence in Clark County for Possession of meth/cocaine with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance excluding meth/cocaine with Purpose to Deliver, Unauthorized Use of Property to Facilitate a Crime, and Maintaining a Drug Premise in a Drug-Free Zone. The charges were in violation of a probation sentence for a 2022 misdemeanor offense in Clark County.
