Twin Rivers Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center announced that the second annual “Backing the Need” Backpack and School Supply Drive is happening now.

Through Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, the community is invited to drop by 3021 Twin Rivers Dr., Arkadelphia, with a donation of either a backpack, school supplies or both. Online shoppers may fill their carts and have items shipped directly to the address above.

Administrator Christina Avery said, “Our goal is 250 backpacks, our overall aim is to level the educational playing field while reducing the financial burden for parents. We want to help with that boost of confidence and self esteem on day one.”

Jason Campbell, director of marketing at Twin Rivers Rehab, has an offer for local businesses: “We are extending an open invitation to local businesses or non-profits that would like to partner on this drive or future drives. Things just cost more than they used to. Just a year ago Arkansas teachers were paying out of pocket an average of $450 a year, just on supplies. Drives like these support beyond the classroom environment from the students, to the teachers, to taking some pressure off local parents just getting ready for all the responsibilities of a new school year.”

At the conclusion of the drive, all donations will be delivered to local schools.
