During a recent week of Arctic conditions when the mercury failed to max out above the freezing mark, we asked our readers if they prefer to be too hot or too cold.
A 2023 poll taken during the sweltering height of summer showed that a 70-30 majority of readers preferred cold weather. We vowed to repeat the poll during the coldest days of winter, with the prediction that the results would flip.
In a poll that was up from Jan. 22-31, 2025, we asked again, and here’s what those who participated in the poll said:
