Masons in Gum Springs are celebrating the 119th Second of August events Aug. 2-4.
The picnic and events will take place at 175 Wood St. The weekend events are being hosted by Excelsior Universal Lodge No. 13 and Universal Evergreen Verbena Chapter No. 192.
Beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 2, “Friday Night Lights” will feature a live DJ, pop-up vendors and barbecue.
Saturday’s festivities will include bounce houses, a DJ and barbecue, followed by a free evening concert that begins at 8 p.m.
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the H.W. Wheeler Memorial Walk will take event-goers from the lodge to St. Ruth Baptist Church, two blocks away at 415 Jones St., where Rev. Jamal Brown is pastor. Masons will be fully dressed in freemason apparel for the occasion.
