
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The Razorbug is coming from the University of Arkansas campus to several towns as part of a tour celebrating successful U of A students who studied online.
The Razorbug is a converted red Volkswagen Beetle that sports a Razorback’s snout, tail and razor-edged spine. It has been used for recruitment and special events since 2005.
At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, JoAnn Vann will receive her diploma for a Master of Science in agriculture and extension education at the Clark County Cooperative Service in Arkadelphia. Vann, Clark County’s family and consumer sciences extension agent, is one of several Arkansas graduates who will receive a diploma by way of the Razorbug.
Faculty members in full commencement regalia will join stops throughout western and southern Arkansas.
Other stops this week include Russellville, Nashville, Camden, Magnolia, El Dorado and Little Rock.
This week’s Razorbug Diploma Tour marks the third consecutive year for the tour that delivers framed diplomas to Arkansans who studied online while living and working in their hometowns. The 2023 tour covered 2,250 miles.
