The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, June 3
4:38 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to Atwoods for a glass breakage alarm, arriving within a minute of the call to find someone had hurled a patio brick through the east foyer door. A responding policeman entered the foyer and determined the entrance doors were secure. An assistant manager arrived and searched the store interior, finding no signs of criminal activity. Police reviewed security footage that showed a white male in dark clothing toting a gas can walk up to the door. The footage was compared to three previous security videos showing the same identified shoplifter.
8:31 a.m.
A Clinton Street man alleged that a neighbor had stolen his Social Security debit card and used it fraudulently. The reporting officer was unable to retrieve any information about the charges at the time of the report.
11:45 a.m.
A man reported the theft of a Playstation 5 from his roommate’s closet on South 1st Street on the weekend of May 25. He said he waited to make the report because he figured his roommate’s girlfriend might have taken the Playstation thinking it belonged to the roommate, but it never turned up.
Police investigated a vehicle breaking or entering at the 2700 block of Pine Street. No further details about the incident are included in the report as the Arkadelphia Police Department does not release information on felony investigations.

Wednesday, June 5
10:01 a.m.
A North Little Rock woman reported that a potential employer informed her she had an active warrant with APD. The reporting officer advised her of a traffic citation she had received in August 2017 and served her with a warrant for failure to appear in 2021. The woman said she was not present for either incident, and a review of body camera footage showed she indeed was not present; instead the person involved was a relative.
Thursday, June 6
12:32 p.m.
An officer patrolling North 10th Street observed a road rage incident under way at the Country Club Road intersection. Police spoke with both parties and learned they have ongoing problems with each other. No further action was taken.
Police investigated a report of fraudulent use of a debit card online. No further details were available as APD does not allow public inspection of felony incident reports.
Friday, June 7
4:52 a.m.
A Wade Street woman reported a home invader kicked in her back door and entered the residence, but made a swift exit out the same door when he saw her. A detective later went to the scene and spoke with the resident. No further action was taken at the time of the report.
1:45 p.m.
A Highway 8 West woman reported losing a bracelet worth $4,000 while dining at Chicken Express on June 2.

Sunday, June 9
2:21 a.m.
Officers were summoned to West Pine Exxon, 3036 Pine St., for a report of a U-Haul driver hitting a fuel pump and leaving the scene. A clerk said he gave chase on foot far enough to see that the driver continued east on Pine Street at its junction with Walnut Street. An officer reviewed security footage that showed a dragonfly on the truck. At 9 p.m. an officer located a damaged U-Haul truck parked at a Forrest Park Drive residence. Contact was made with the driver, Samuel Cecil McKinney Jr., 65, who lists an address of Vallejo, California. McKinney was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
1 p.m.
A North Little Rock man reported that on May 2, when he lived in Arkadelphia, he became aware of a medical charge to his insurance. The charge was for an emergency room visit in Monticello and a prescription called in at a pharmacy in North Little Rock. His mother, the policyholder, was able to cancel the prescription but needed a report in order to dispute the insurance claim.

Wednesday, June 5
2:30 a.m.
A deputy responded to a residence at the 7000 block of Highway 26 West for a complaint of trespassers banging on the caller’s house. Upon arrival a deputy saw a couple banging at the door and on the house. Derenzo Preston, 24, and Tracy Stone, 22, were both arrested for criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

7:09 p.m.
A deputy responded to a Melugin Road residence for a dispute over the killing of a dog and threats made afterward. The deputy spoke with all involved parties, and it was determined that the party making the threats would stay off the others’ property.
Saturday, June 8
7:32 p.m.
Jason Wayne Bright, 51, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at 104 Texas Road and held for continued detention following police response to the address for an altercation involving a man being cut with a knife. The victim was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia and treated for 4-inch lacerations on both his arm and chest.
