NWS releases report on Hot Springs twister

The National Weather Service in Little Rock confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down south of Hot Springs during the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

The twister apparently crossed state Highway 7 where it spans over Lake Hamilton.

The tornado had winds up to 120 mph and tracked 12.2 miles across portions of Garland County. This tornado impacted locations just south of Hot Springs, including areas along Lake Hamilton.

There were no injuries or deaths reported; however, multiple homes were damaged in the storm.
