Arkadelphia water reserve replenished

The City of Arkadelphia’s water supply reserve has been replenished thanks to the conservation efforts of local residents.

On Friday, January 19, city officials announced one of the motors that pressurizes the water system was no longer operational. This issue could result in lower water pressures which could be dangerous should a fire occur that needs extinguishing.

To build up the reserve, city officials asked residents to conserve water over the weekend. The city’s request was met with overwhelming support, and officials are excited to announce the reserve has been completely replenished.

“The city’s water reserve is replenished, and Gum Springs is almost there,” Water Utilities Manager David Green said. “We cannot thank our customers and residents enough for their efforts over the past three days. They came together to support us, and in doing so, supported each other.”

To address the damaged motor, city officials have installed a temporary motor for the time being. A permanent solution is expected to be delivered and installed by the end of the week.
