Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to a residential fire at 49 Robin Lane in Arkadelphia.
At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, firefighters with the Arkadelphia Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a fire. Any flames present appeared to be extinguished within minutes of their arrival. Firefighters spent the next several minutes using equipment to pull smoke from the residence.
A neighbor told arkadelphian.com that he called 911 when he saw smoke pouring from the upper portions of the mobile home.
There was no one home at the time of the fire, which we’re told started while the resident made a trip to Walmart. The resident arrived as firefighters were working the scene.
“We got the fire knocked out pretty quickly,” said interim Fire Chief Andy Neal.
Neal said the fire started in the kitchen, likely on the stovetop.
Contact was made with The American Red Cross to determine what assistance would be made for the resident.
Firefighters from three different agencies — Arkadelphia Fire Department, Caddo Valley Fire Department and DeGray Fire Department — responded to the residence.
