
A Magnolia motorist died when he collided with a bridge in rural Columbia County.
Luis Santiago, 30, of Magnolia, was traveling east on Columbia County 61 in a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 when he exited the roadway to the south and collided with a bridge, according to a preliminary fatal crash summary report filed by Arkansas State Police.
Santiago’s vehicle then went airborne and overturned before landing in a creek. Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbia County Coroner Randy Reed.
The accident happened at 6:03 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, under clear skies and on clear roads, according to investigating Trooper Brian Palmer. Santiago’s body was being held at R.L. Funeral Home.
