The Magnolia School District will move to a 12-month school calendar during the 2024-2025 school year.

District trustees made the decision on Monday night during their regular December meeting. Some of the features of the calendar include:

• The school year will run from July 26, 2024, to June 4, 2025.
• Students will still attend 178 days of instruction as mandated by state law.
• Summer holidays will generally last between 6-7 weeks.
• Additional holidays will be added throughout the school year with most months having a week-long holiday.
• The average teacher’s contract will remain 190 days.
• State-mandated teacher training days will remain the same.
• Parent-Teacher Conference requirements will not change.

The district said in a statement that it understands that vacations and other plans may conflict with the new calendar start date.
