CADDO VALLEY — About four dozen Arkansas inmates donning their orange prison apparel were seen this week at a municipal park in Clark County, but they weren’t here for a casual visit.
Overseen by horseback guards, some 40 inmates of the Arkansas Department of Corrections spent a day clearing debris and cleaning up at the city park in Caddo Valley.
By the end of the day they had roughly a full cord of firewood stacked behind City Hall — firewood that was being offered to the public at no charge. The park, meanwhile, was closed on Thursday for the cleanup, the city announced on its Facebook page.
