
A head-on collision on Interstate 30 in Miller County left two people dead and four others injured Tuesday evening.
According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary, the driver of a Ford Mustang was traveling against westbound traffic and collided with the front passenger side of a Kia Optima.
A passenger of the Kia, 24-year-old Jabrea Conway, of Prescott, was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile who was also a passenger in the Kia would later be pronounced deceased at a Texarkana hospital.
The accident happened 2 miles northeast of State Line Avenue, near the Four States Parkway exit.
Three other passengers in the Kia — Takyah Latin, 28, Jaquala Flowers, 28, both of Hope, and another juvenile — were transported to Texarkana hospitals with unknown injuries.
The driver of the Mustang was identified as Richard Lopez, 44, of San Antonio. Lopez was also taken to a nearby hospital.
The accident occurred at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, under clear skies and on dry roads, according to Cpl. Cullen Young who investigated the crash.
