Cody was a 1999 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. He worked in the farming Industry. Cody attended Third Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.

Kitty was an excellent seamstress, cook and bridge partner. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkadelphia. She served as the mayor of Arkadelphia from 1989 – 1996.
